Ruby Performance Comparisons on Windows

I was doing some performance testing and noting that Ruby for Windows (via the one-click installer) is significantly slower than the Cygwin version of Ruby for Windows. In some cases, the Cygwin version was almost twice as fast!

Has anyone else noticed this?

I've only used it on *nix machines. Haven't done much profiling. Always interested in updates... What are your 1.8.5 plans? I haven't seen anything yet about Ruby on Rails on 1.8.5.

I'll do some profiling and let you know.

We won't go to 1.8.5 until its latest production stable, and we know Rails works OK with it :)
